March 28, 2017 is the tenth anniversary of the Holly Tornado. In remembrance of that night, the Holly Historical Society Is presenting “The Holly Tornado – Ten Years After” at the Holly Theater on March 28 at 7:00 p.m.  This program is free to the public, but reservations are needed.  Call Nola Mae Ice at (719) 537-6884 or Kurtis Klinghammer at (719) 537-6060 for tickets and further information.

The evening will include Tom Magnuson of the National Weather Service explaining the conditions that caused the storm. Also Lee Merkel of the Department of Local Affairs will describe the steps that were taken in the immediate aftermath.  There will be photos and videos from several sources that will show the effects of that tragic night.

Together we can remember and reflect on the events of that night and the people involved.
