Two Injured in Baca County Highway Accident

On Saturday, October 22, 2016 at approximately 6:30 am, Colorado State Patrol responded to a single vehicle rollover crash on Baca CR j, 0.7 miles west of Baca CR 15. The crash location was approximately 10 miles west of Campo on CR J.
The 2006 Dodge pickup, driven by 20 year old Braelen Fisher of Springfield, CO, was eastbound wen it veered off the north side of the roadway, then collided with a bridge guardrail. The Dodge rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise, then rolled one full time on the roadway, coming to final rest on its wheels facing north. The driver was ejected during the roll. The passenger, 24 year old Austin Schroder of Campo, CO was also ejected during the roll. Neither occupant was wearing their seatbelts at the time.
Both persons were flown to Swedish Medical Center in Denver, CO with serious injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation; however speed does not appear to be a factor.
