Marie Elena Montano…February 16, 1943 – September 8, 2016

A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Marie Montano on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Las Animas, Colorado. Father Mariusz Wirkowski will officiate. A Rosary/Scripture service will take place at 9:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at the Bent/Las Animas Cemetery.

Marie Elena Montano was born on February 16, 1943 to Louis J. and Adelina Montano in Las Animas, Colorado and passed away on September 8, 2016 in Shawnee, Kansas at the age of 73.

Marie lived in Mastic, New York for over 50 years where she was employed by Pathmark Grocery Store. After retiring in 2009, she moved to Shawnee, Kansas. Following her retirement, she worked at Price Chopper in West Shawnee, Kansas.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Deborah Dawson and Brenda Montroy; sister, Esther (Bobby) Fernandez; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
