QHR CLIENT HOSPITAL EXECUTIVES HONORED FOR ACHIEVEMENT
(Lamar, CO) August 23, 2016 – Quorum Health Resources (Quorum) recently held their Annual Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.
As a part of this annual event, there is an awards ceremony recognizing top performing hospitals nationwide. During the ceremony, Quorum announced the winners of the National 2016 Excellence in Leadership awards. Prowers Medical Center received both the “Most Improved Performance” and “Best Overall Performance” among Critical Access Hospitals. CEO Craig Loveless, CFO Audrey Kane, and COO Karen Bryant were on hand to receive the awards on behalf of the organization.
Mickey Bilbrey, President and CEO of Quorum Health Resources offered the following comments during the awards ceremony:
Prowers benefited from an increase in Colorado DSH payments, as did all Colorado rural hospitals. But the leadership team also took advantage of an Emergency Room and OR construction project, which resulted in a 7% increase in ED visits, and a 27% increase in acute care admissions. Yet even with a significant increase in admissions, the hospital held the line on expenses to a 2% increase vs. prior year.
Prowers has converted their physician clinic to a Rural Health Clinic to better serve both Medicare and Medicaid cases, and has successfully reduced their net AR days by 7.
“We are proud of the commitment and contributions these executives make to our client hospitals and the communities they serve day in and day out,” concluded Bilbrey. “They are great examples of the leadership every hospital needs to be successful.”
Please join our Team in a celebration! On August 25th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at The Brew, Prowers Medical Center will be recognizing and celebrating the efforts of our entire Healthcare Team for their part in achieving this honor and recognition. Please come and enjoy a drink and light refreshments and help us celebrate our success! Congratulations and thanks to all of our staff who serve our patients, visitors, physicians, staff members and community through compassionate care and unwavering dedication as we grow and enhance our services every day.
