Clyde Spitzer…August 29, 1934 – May 14, 2016

A celebration of life for former longtime Lamar resident currently of Walsenburg, Clyde Spitzer will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Ian Blacker officiating. Military Honors and interment will follow in the McClave Cemetery.

Visitation for Clyde will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 3:00PM until 6:00 P.M. at the Peacock Family Chapel.

Clyde was born on August 29, 1934 in McClave, Colorado to Eli Franklin and Eva Marie (Colburn) Spitzer and passed away on May 14, 2016 at the Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center in Walsenburg at the age of 81.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Harold Spitzer, Lloyd Spitzer, Robert Spitzer, Richard Spitzer and sister, Mary Chatham.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Pat Spitzer of Walsenburg, children, Janell (Brad) Nevius of Lamar and Beth (Joe) O’Neill of Trinidad, siblings, Edwin Spitzer of Walsenburg, CO; Harry (Flossie) Spitzer of Lamar; Thelma Schibbelhut of Holly; Lola McElroy of Las Animas and Norma Lou Boggio of Lamar. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael (Moriah) Nevius, Daniel (Anna) Nevius, Erin O’Neill, Caitlin (Josh) Machone, Meghan (John) Hampson, great grandson Brendan Hampson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice and/or the Lamar Christian Church either direct or in care of the funeral home office.

Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
