May 25, 2016/Summary: Action 22 announces the departure of Chairman John T. Marrin due to his pending retirement as President of Lamar Community College as well as the departure of the Interim President and CEO of Action 22, Bob Stovall. Action 22 welcomes Ivor J. Hill as the new Chairperson and Jennifer Herrera as President and CEO.

Action 22 would like to thank Chairman John T. Marrin for his years of service to the organization and wish him well in retirement from his position as President of Lamar Community College. The organization would also like to express gratitude to Interim President and CEO Bob Stovall for his contributions over the past year.

Action 22 is excited to announce a new leadership team. The energy and experience that Ivor J. Hill and Jennifer Herrera, as Chair and President respectively, bring to the organization will be the shot in the arm the organization has been seeking. Mr. Hill, a Pueblo based Real Estate Appraiser, joined the board on January 1st of 2015 and has served on the Executive Committee as Treasurer and Vice Chair. In 2015, he spearheaded the highly successful Golf Tournament in Colorado City. Due to his work in real estate, he has visited and worked in every county represented by Action 22.

Jennifer Herrera brings extensive experience in policy, politics, and nonprofit management having worked for various state legislators at Colorado’s capitol, as a staffer for former Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff’s campaign for US Senate, and as the Executive Director of Colfax Community Network (a nonprofit serving homeless children and families in Aurora, CO).

“As the new leadership team for Action 22, Jennifer and I look forward to visiting all 22 counties in the coming months in order to meet and grow the membership of Action 22 and significantly increase the impact of the collective voice of the 22 counties at the state and federal level for the benefit of every individual who resides within our borders.”  — Ivor J. Hill, Chairman
