RE: Important preventive safety tips for the citizens of Lamar

With the recent damage caused by the recent storms, the City of Lamar Building Department is issuing some tips that are meant to help our citizens through the process of getting qualified bids and contractors while trying to protect our citizens:

1. Please make sure your contractor is licensed and insured within the City of Lamar, Colorado by asking to see copies of insurance and licenses.
2. Do not advance any monies without signed contracts.
3. Have the contractor get a permit from the building department. Do not let them talk you into getting it for them.
4. All roof replacements need permits.
5. Three tab shingles are NOT allowed with in the City of Lamar
