LAMAR, Colo. — Lamar Community College is pleased to announce its renewed partnership with High
Plains Community Health Center to once again provide health services for students and employees
through a convenient on-campus location in the College’s Wellness Center.

Following a brief period during which on-campus services were unavailable, the leadership teams at
Lamar Community College and High Plains Community Health Center worked collaboratively to
reestablish this important partnership. Their shared commitment to increasing access to quality
healthcare has resulted in the return of these vital services, benefiting LCC students and employees.
“We are excited to welcome High Plains Community Health Center to Lamar Community College and to
house these services right here on our campus,” said Dr. Formon Thompson, Vice President for Student Services and Success. “This partnership allows us to support our students and staff. Access to health-related services plays an important role in student persistence, wellness, and completion, and we are proud to strengthen that support through this collaboration.”

This partnership reflects Lamar Community College’s continued commitment to supporting student
success, employee well-being, and the overall health of the region. By bringing High Plains Community
Health Center back to campus, LCC is expanding access to essential healthcare services in a familiar,
student-centered environment while strengthening a partnership that serves the interests of the entire
community.

“Our greatest progress as a community is achieved when organizations embrace collaboration and unite
around a shared mission that places people above individual interests” said Dr. Rosana Reyes, President
of Lamar Community College. “I am deeply appreciative of the collaborative spirit demonstrated by the
leadership at High Plains Community Health Center in working with us to restore these services on our
campus. Together, we recognized that this partnership is about far more than two organizations. It is
about removing barriers to care, improving the health and well-being of our students, employees,
families, and neighbors, and strengthening the communities we serve.”

Lamar Community College is home to one of the largest concentrations of students and employees in
southeast Colorado each day. By establishing a presence on campus, High Plains Community Health
Center is able to bring healthcare directly to where people learn, work, and gather, expanding its reach
while making healthcare more convenient and accessible for those who need it most.
