Karen Marie Mathew – April 13, 1974 – August 8, 2026

Karen Marie Mathew, 52 died late afternoon on August 8th 2026 at Southeast Colorado Hospital and Nursing Home in Springfield Colorado. She was born April 13th 1974 to Dorothy ” Dottie ” Marie Robinson in Picayune Mississippi. She moved to the southeast Colorado area when she was seven, with her mother and her younger sister Candi, age 6. Her mother married Roger Matthew in 1981 and he adopted both her and her sister that same year. She attended Alta Vista School and Junior/Senior High School in Lamar Colorado. She lived in the Herford and Canyon Texas area for a while where she had her two daughters Nicole Marie and Mikka Jade. She was very outgoing and made friends easily. She was preceded in death by her mother Dottie her sister Candi, her grandparents Clark and Charlotte Beeson, grandparents Jack and Frances Matthew and other aunts, uncles, cousins, and family members. She is survived by her father Roger of Durango, two daughters Nicole Marie (Anthony) Guerra and Mikka Jade (Lane) Newcomb, 4 grandchildren and other family and friends.

Memorial services will be held September 12th at 10:00 a.m. at Lamar Christian Church in Lamar Colorado.
