The Colorado State Science and Engineering Fair was held from April 9-11, 2026 at CSU – Fort Collins. Six students from the Southeast Colorado Regional Science Fair earned the right to attend the state competition. Six students, all from Lamar not only attended the state competition, but (for the first time ever) all made it to the podium.
Priya Mayjoy, a sophomore at Lamar High School, took 1st place in the Animal Division. She was recognized with an Innovation of Science Award, an Agricultural Award, and a $1000/4 years scholarship from CSU. She also took 5th place in the entire state and, as a result, will be attending the International Science Fair in May.
