A memorial service for longtime Lamar, Colorado resident, Marvin Carpenter, affectionately known as Preach by his friends, will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Peacock Family Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
Marvin was born on May 22, 1958 at Fort Morgan, Colorado to Robert and Evelyn (Tracy) Carpenter and passed away on February 21, 2026 at his home in Lamar at the age of 67. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn Tombleson, brother-in-law Donald Snider and companion Vicki Reeves. Marvin is survived by one brother Raymond (Jo) Carpenter of Menifee, CA, one sister Martha Snider of Fort Morgan, CO, brother-in-law Cecil (Marilyn Mustain) Tombleson of Ottis, CO as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marvin Carpenter Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
