Lamar Chamber hosts annual banquet – Roni Vallejos selected as Citizen of the Year for 2025

The Lamar Chamber of Commerce held their annual banquet at the Historic Cow Palace Inn on January 30, 2026. The event was attended by approximately 240 people.  Ty Harmon was the evening’s emcee.  Chamber President Kolby Brubacher welcomed attendees and thanked everyone for attending. Lamar Mayor Kirk Crespin gave a state of the city address, highlighting the recent accomplishments and future projects the city is working on.  Also speaking at the dinner was City Administrator Mitch Hammes, who was attending his first Lamar Chamber banquet, saying how impressed he’s been of the community since beginning his position last fall.  Keynote speakers were Tallie Harmon and Brent Bates, representing Prowers Economic Prosperity.

Winners in several categories were announced and presented with awards.  Receiving the Young Professional of the Year award was Morgan Hicks.  Daylen’s Paleteria was chosen as the Upcoming New Business of the Year.  Colorado Mills received the Beverly Augustine Business of the Year award and Roni Vallejos was selected as Citizen of the Year for 2025.

Recognized as Outstanding Volunteers for 2025 were Sydney Sires, Esau Moreno, Tyler Geddes, and Ty Harmon.  Brubacher introduced the 2026 Chamber Board.  Officers for 2026 are Kolby Brubacher, President; Hillary Perales, Vice President; Cheryl Wollert, Treasurer; Martha Alvarez, Secretary, and Amanda Vasquez, Reporter.  Executive Committee members are Colling Sires and Shane Aguilera.  Board Members are Preston Claybrook, Vik Kodavatikanti, and Anthony Cruz.
