Cael Buxton and Brooklyn Robbins, 2025 LHS Athletes of the Year

Cael Buxton and Brooklyn Robbins were named 2025 Lamar High School Athletes of the year at the recent sports banquet at the Community Building.

Cael was also the recipient of the 2025 Don Rohlman Lamar Thunder Football Scholarship.  Cael will be attending Trinidad State College this fall and will be playing baseball while continuing his education.

Brooklyn will be attending BYU and though she was an outstanding 3-sport athlete at LHS, has decided not to play sports in college so she can concentrate on her education, hoping to have a career in pediatric nursing. She said she loved all three sports and credits her dad for her love of sports, as he was her volleyball coach as well as coaching all three sports as she grew up.
