Local Marine Receives Promotion

Lamar, CO – The United States Marine Corps is pleased to announce the promotion of Sergeant Jose Ramos to the rank of Staff Sergeant, effective Thursday, August 1, 2024.

Staff Sergeant Ramos has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to the mission of the Marine Corps. His outstanding performance and contributions have been instrumental to the success of his unit.

In addition to this promotion, Staff Sergeant Ramos has been awarded 3 Navy and Marine Achievement Medals, 2 Good Conduct Medals, and 1 Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal. These accolades highlight his extraordinary service and dedication.

It is worth noting that very seldom are Marines promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in 6 years, a testament to Staff Sergeant Ramos’ exceptional capabilities and performance.

We would also like to recognize the invaluable support of Ramos’ family, including wife, Rhaeli Ramos, and children, Jaeda, Jaitren, Jayci, Jrae, and Journi. Their encouragement and sacrifices have played a crucial role in Staff Sergeant Ramos’ success.

Ramos graduated Lamar High School in 2016. He has served in the United States Marine Corps since April of 2018. Currently stationed on Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora, CO., he serves as Motor Transportation Maintenance Chief.
