Ken Cullen served on the Board of Directors of Prosperity Lane Community Water and Sewer Association for many years. Ken was instrumental in getting many things accomplished for the Association and was a great leader for the Board.
After Ken passed, the Board decided to award a scholarship in his honor to a deserving student in the Lamar school district that was actively involved with FFA. Ken was a strong believer in education. Ken spent many years teaching agriculture at different levels. He felt that all children should try and obtain the best education possible.
Ken was also very involved in FFA. He felt that FFA played an important part of the education of children. Ken was always willing to lend kids a helping hand with their FFA projects and spent many summers helping them with their livestock
projects.
Aspen Hawkins is the recipient of the First Annual Kenneth Cullen Memorial Scholarship. She has demonstrated many qualities that Ken would like to see instilled in all children.
