Boots, Bling & Blessings Brings Bountiful Returns

LCC Learning Garden

LAMAR, CO – Lamar Community College Foundation’s Boots, Bling, and Blessings, presented by Southeast Colorado Power Association/SECOM has become the college’s most successful fundraising event yet. Held on October 19, the LCC Foundation raised well over $40,000 and sold over 200 tickets. The proceeds of this event help provide additional scholarships and creates momentum for new projects that benefit the college and its students, including new residence halls. Sponsors, alumni, and community members all enjoyed the event, and had the opportunity to meet with many of the LCC Foundation scholarship recipients.

The third annual event of its kind, Boots, Bling & Blessings has generated over $87,000 total in new revenue to expand scholarship opportunities, fund new initiatives, and reward innovative teaching/learning. The Foundation has become the college’s partner in funding promising approaches to serve students and Southeast Colorado. Its next challenge will be to secure additional student housing, so the college can accommodate growth.

The next Boots, Bling & Blessings event is scheduled for October 17, 2020, and the BBB Committee will be hard at work improving the event for next year. The event is open to the public.
