Revenue Mix for Lamar March Sales Tax Revenue

 

 

 

Sales Tax Revenue for the City of Lamar for March, 2019 showed a gain of 0.84% for a minor increase of $2,181.07 for the month, compared to last year. Collections for 2018 were $258,956.09 while 2019 was $261,137.16   Use Tax collections were off 19.10% for a drop of $5,177 from this year to last and Total Sales and Use Tax collections were off 0.86% for a decrease of $2,469.  Collections for 2019 were $284,501 compared to 2018 of $286,970.

Year to Date collection for this period were off 6% for City Sales Tax with total collections for 2018 at $919,618 compared to 2019 at $864,421. Use Tax collected was down 54.18 year to date and Total Sales and Use Tax collections were off 11.97%.  That translates to a drop of $127,995 comparing 2018 to 2019.  Collections for 2018 were $1,069,651 and for 2019 at $941,655.

The 12 Retail Sales Tax Categories between 2017 and 2019 show a drop in revenue for Building Materials, All Business/Electricity, Motels and Other Retail/All Other while there was a moderate increase in Restaurant tax revenue.
