Lamar Honkers Regrouping

Feathers is Riding High

The Lamar Chamber Honkers, a branch of the Lamar Chamber of Commerce for an estimated six decades, is reorganizing after a lapse of a year.

Easily recognized by their mascot, Feathers, the largest goose hunting decoy in the world, the Honkers have acted as a welcoming branch of the Chamber. Periodically, the group will visit new businesses, welcoming them to the community, celebrate a milestone or significant business anniversary, or welcome a new manager or owner to an existing store or business.  These appointments are usually scheduled through the Chamber office.  In the past, the Honkers and Feathers have participated in local parades as well as representing Lamar in the annual state fair in Pueblo.

Current members include Holly Burton, Victor Coberley, Ginger Coberley, Marissa Hampel, Valerie Baldwin, Kristy Biggers, Maria De La Virgen, Erica Wurst and Ashley Roseberry. The qualifications for membership are to either be a current Chamber member or be employed by a Chamber affiliated business.  Meetings are scheduled for once a month and additional meetings are sometimes required to coordinate a business visit.

Contact the Lamar Chamber office at 336-4379 for more information.
