James “Bob” Dennis…September 6, 1935 – January 7, 2019

Funeral Services for James “Bob” Dennis will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly, Colorado with Steve Knobbe officiating. Interment will follow at Hartman Cemetery, Hartman, Colorado.  Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. also at the funeral chapel.

James Henry Dennis, known to most as Bob, was born on September 6, 1935 in Hartman, Colorado to Roy Eugene and Selna (Sallee) Dennis. He passed away peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the age of 83 surrounded by family at home in Colorado Springs, Colorado after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Bob’s military family referred to him as Chief or Jim. He proudly served in the USAF for 36+ years before retiring in March of 1993.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Selna Dennis; brothers, Estes (Buster) Dennis and Franklin (Buddy) Dennis.

He is survived by his spouse, Patricia Dennis of the family home; Diana (Dave) Weals of Pickerington, Ohio, Gayla (Steve) Powers of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Trent Dennis of Pierce, Colorado; grandchildren, Brandon Dennis of Columbus, Ohio, Brittany Dennis of Columbus, Ohio, Lindsay (Matt) Sheridan of Thornville, Ohio, Brian Weals of Columbus, Ohio, Kayleigh Powers (Cameron Phelan) of Colorado Springs, Kelsey Powers of San Diego, California; great-grandchildren, Hunter Waites, Ava and Emma Sheridan, and Ella and Everett Phelan; brother, Curt Dennis of Pierce, Colorado; sister, Sharon Stein of Colorado Springs, Colorado as well as many nieces and nephews, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bob to Holly Fire and Ambulance Fund, Hartman Cemetery, or the charity of donor’s choice in care of Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 950, Lamar, Colorado, 81052.
