LCC Announces Winter Holiday Closures

Prairie Sentry

(Lamar, Colorado; December 17, 2018) Lamar Community College’s fall semester has officially come to an end and the holidays are near. The LCC campus will be closed starting Tuesday, December 25, and will reopen on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, so that faculty and staff can spend time with their families.

Certain departments on campus will have additional closures including the Library, The Study (LCC’s tutoring center), and Fitness Center.

The Library and The Study closed at the end of the finals week and will reopen again on January 7.

The Fitness Center will be closed for only four days: December 24, 25, 31, and January 1. From December 26 through January 12, the Fitness Center will observe winter hours; they will be open Monday through Thursday 5:00am-1:00pm and 4:00-8:00pm, Friday 5:00am-1:00pm, and Saturday 8:00-11:00am. The Fitness Center will resume regular hours on Monday, January 14.

Registration is currently open for the spring semester at LCC. Individuals interested in registering for courses should plan to come in to campus and meet with an advisor prior to the holiday closure, if possible, or as soon as possible after campus reopens on January 2.

Spring classes start as early as January 2 with a mini-mester photography course and most classes start January 14, 2019. The residence halls and cafeteria will re-open for the spring semester on Thursday, January 10.
