Latino Heritage Live! – Fred Blanco Portrays Cesar Chavez

Acclaimed Los Angeles-based actor and scholar Fred Blanco will present the one-man show “The Stories of Cesar Chavez” on Tuesday, October 9th at 7pm at Lamar Community College, 2401 South Main Street, Bowman Building, Room 139.

Blanco’s dramatic portrayal of Cesar Chavez, one of the most inspirational and influential civil rights leaders of our time, looks at the man and his struggle for equality. The audience joins Chavez during his first hunger strike in 1968, and follows him on a spiritual journey through his humble childhood to his days as a courageous labor leader.

Fred Blanco studied theater at California State University, Northridge and has appeared in various roles on stage and screen. He has performed for a variety of theater companies in California and for a number of diverse educational audiences. Recently, Mr. Blanco performed as Cesar Chavez at the 2018 Ohio Chautauqua summer tour Modern Legends.
