Jean R. Hill…April 2, 1924 – September 19, 2018

A Memorial Service for Lamar, CO resident Jean Hill will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lamar, CO with Reverend Jennifer Shadle officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery.

Jean R. Hill was born on April 2, 1924 in Torpenhow, Cumbria, England to Joseph and Jane (Richardson) Cape. Jean moved to Lamar from England on May 13, 1946. Having enjoyed sewing, knitting, needlepoint and crewel, her real passion was painting. She was an amazing gardener.  Jean was a member of St. Paul’s Church and belonged to Daubers Club.  She passed away at her home on September 19, 2018 at the age of 94.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Daphne (Tom) Harding of Delta, CO, and Sue Peery of Lamar, CO; three grandchildren, DeAnn Baker of Annapolis, MD, Brad Harding of Delta, CO, and Bryce (Summer) Peery of Bayfield, CO; three great grandchildren, Ethan Baker, Andrew Baker, and Parker Peery; numerous nieces and nephews; many other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond G. Hill; and six siblings.
