Holly Gateway Fair, “Homestead Memories”, September 26th-29th

 

 

Homestead Memories has been selected as the theme for this year’s Holly Gateway Fair which runs from Wednesday, September 26th through Sunday, the 30th.

Each afternoon and evening offers an event or exhibition for every taste beginning with Barrel Racing Exhibitions on the 26th at 5:30pm to the actual competition which starts at 7pm that evening.  The Beef Weigh-in will also be held at 7pm.

The Goat Show is set for the 27th at 1pm and the Swine Show will start at 6:30pm to be followed by Team Roping events.

Friday, enjoy the Junior Class Breakfast at the Fairgrounds from 7 to 9am, the Sheep Show starts at 9am, followed by the Beef Show at 11am. Cattle Sorting will round out the evening with a 5pm start time.

The 10am parade will kick off Saturday events afterwhich the exhibits are open to the public. The Royalty Contest is set for Noon on the 28th, followed by the Tractor Pull at 1pm.  A BBQ will start at 4:30 at the sale barn at the fairgrounds and at 5:30, attendees are encouraged to take part in the Small Fry Show, open to any animals.  Other events at that time include:  Record Book Awards, Royalty Presentation and Sweet Treat Feat Awards.  The Market Animal Sale starts at 6:30 and the Beef Give-away will follow (must be present to win).  Homestead Memories comes to a close at 3pm on Sunday with competition in the Open Gymkhana.
