Mary Edna Jacobs…November 4, 1929 – June 2, 2018

Funeral Services for Mary E. Jacobs will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Horber Funeral Chapel in Las Animas, Colorado with Pastor Diane Hutson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bent/Las Animas Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 6, 2018 at the funeral home.

Mary E. Jacobs of Las Animas, CO passed away early Saturday morning, June 2, 2018 at the Arkansas Regional Medical Center in La Junta, CO. She was born in Hebbronville, TX on November 4, 1929 to Walter and Pearl (Barron) Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Jacobs; sister, Sarah (Harry) Galassini; sister-in-law, Mary Ena Johnson; daughters, Mary Ellen Schafer, Carolyn Montoya, and Linda (Jerry) Heyer; sons, Michael Montoya, Orlando (Luanne) Montoya, and Donald Montoya; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth Johnson and Walter Johnson; sisters, Jane Vigil and Betty Hathoot; daughter, Charlotte; son-in-law, Richard Schafer; and grandson, Diego Montoya.
