Maria Dolores Herrera de Vargas…1932 – May 3, 2018

Maria Dolores Herrera de Vargas, who personified love, generosity, and faith, passed on to the Lord on Thursday, May 3, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years young.  Maria Dolores Herrera de Vargas was born in Bartlett, Colorado, in 1932, to Maria Dorotea Garnica de Herrera and Jesus Martin Herrera.

She is preceded in death by her husband Leobardo G. Vargas and survived by her children Peter, Maria del Pilar, Alberto, Mercedes, Victor, and Vincente; six grandchildren – Brian, Mark, Alexander, Jenneva, Elena, and Miranda; and Leobardo Antonio Pedro Vargas, her beloved great grandson – all from the Denver Metro area, Texas, and Florida. She is also survived by her siblings Antonio Herrera, Maria Herrera Ramos, and Salvador Herrera.

Mass of Christian Burial for Maria Vargas will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 at St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lamar, CO. with Father Mariusz Wirkowski as Celebrant. Rosary will be held prior to the Mass at 9:30 a.m. also at the church. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar, CO. The Vargas Family cordially invites all wishing to pay their respects to a lunch at St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church immediately following the burial services.
