Mary A. Montez…January 6, 1927 – April 15, 2018

A Mass of Christian burial for longtime Lamar resident, Mary A Montez will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday April 19, 2018 at the St. Frances de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Wojciech Pelczarski as celebrant.

A rosary service for Mary will be held at 9:30am Thursday April 19, 2018 at the Catholic Church led by Rita Ybarra.

Visitation for Mary Montez will be held from 3pm to 7pm Wednesday April 18, 2018 at the Peacock Funeral Home.

Mary A Montez was born on January 6, 1927 in Lamar, CO to Vincent Andrade and Josephine Melgosa-Andrade and departed this life on Sunday April 15, 2018 at her home in Lamar at the age of 91.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband – Henio M. Montez; by one son – Henio Montez, Jr.; and by her siblings – Dora Ortiz; Rosie Garcia; Frank Andrade; Angel Andrade; Roger Andrade; and Lupe Andrade.

Mary is survived by her children – Richard (Rosa) Montez of Tacoma, WA; Robert (Carolyn) Montez of Wiley, CO; Rose Eye of Lamar; Sally Smith of Burlington, CO; and Dee Ann Trujillo of Lamar; by eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; by her siblings – Paul Andrade of Denver; Eddie Andrade of Lamar; Jesse (Vickie) Andrade of Lamar; Vincent Andrade, Jr. of Holly; and Gloria (Johnny) Gallegos of Denver; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
