Lucille M. Cook…May 1, 1939 – April 22, 2018

Funeral Services for Lucille M. Cook will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at The First Church of the Nazarene in Las Animas, CO with Pastor Diane Hutson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bent/Las Animas Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Horber Funeral Chapel.

Lucille Marie (Gunn) Cook was born on May 1, 1939 in Las Animas, Colorado to Raymond E. and Helen (Moreland) Gunn. She passed away on April 22, 2018 in Pueblo, Colorado at the age of 78.

Lucille attended the Las Animas schools, Friends University, and SCSC in Pueblo. She was united in marriage to Roger L. Calhoon in 1960.  This union was blessed with four children.  On October 4, 1986 she was united in marriage to Sam Cook this union blended his six children and Lucille’s four children.  Lucille was a rancher’s wife and operated her own business, Cook Financial Planning until she retired in 2002.  Lucille was best known for her sewing, quilting, and was a very talented musician.

Lucille is survived by her children, Steven Calhoon of Fountain Hills, AZ, Jimmy (Margaret) Calhoon of Westminster, CO, and Lisa Hanks of Las Animas, CO; step-children, Sam W. (Doris) Cook of Las Vegas, NM, Ron Cook of Las Animas, CO, Cheri (Kenny) Allard of Guymon, OK, and Darla Cook of Las Animas, CO; brother, Donald (Mary Ann) Gunn of Parker, CO; eight grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam Cook; son, Jeff Calhoon; step-children, Linda Diaz and Allen Cook; sister, Margaret Massey; and brother, Raymond Eugene Gunn.
