A Celebration of Life Service for Dwayne Grogan will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holly Cemetery in Holly, Colorado with Pastor Kathy Leathers officiating. Per Dwayne’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing.
Leonard Dwayne Grogan, known to most as Dwayne, was born on August 7, 1938 in Holly, Colorado to Howard and Virginia Mae (Watkins) Grogan. He passed away with family by his side on April 6, 2018 in Lone Tree, Colorado at the age of 79.
Dwayne married Marlene Gentry in Vancouver, Washington in 1960. The couple moved to Holly, Colorado in 1961. Together, they owned and operated for 50 years, the family Ice House which later became a grocery/convenience store that was then converted into the liquor store.
Dwayne loved Holly High School sports. He never missed the opportunity to support his grandchildren’s many activities and took great pride in being their grandfather.
Dwayne is survived by his wife Marlene of the home; son, Bryan (Stacey) Grogan of Parker, Colorado; grandchildren, Max, Jaxon, and Alexa Grogan; brothers, Russell (Judy) Grogan of Holly, Colorado and Stanley (Gem) Grogan of Florida; many other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Virginia Mae; daughter, Stacy Grogan in 1980; and brothers, Larry and Jerry Watkins.
