CSP Seeking Info on Rocky Ford Vehicle Involved in Fire Truck Crash

The Colorado State Patrol is currently investigating a crash involving a Rocky Ford Rural Fire District Brush truck that was responding to a structure fire in the city of Rocky Ford on Tuesday, April 17th. The fire truck was northbound on Highway 71 approaching Otero County Road CC when it swerved to avoid an unknown vehicle that failed to yield the right of way and turned northbound onto Highway 71 from County Road CC.
After swerving to the left to avoid a collision, the fire truck went off the left side of the roadway. It continued northbound off the roadway where it rotated clockwise and rolled 2 ½ times, coming to rest on its top, facing east. Both occupants of the fire truck were transported to AVRMC in La Junta for treatment of injuries. Seatbelts were in use at the time of the crash.
The Colorado State Patrol is seeking anyone with information that can help identify the unknown vehicle that failed to yield the right of way.
