The Lamar City Council held its monthly informal breakfast meeting at the Quality Inn, formerly the Super 8 Motel on North Main Street in Lamar this Wednesday, April 4th.  The ribbon cutting was to commemorate the remodeling project that had taken place at the hotel, expanding the road side front of the building into a continental breakfast nook and adding additional space to the south side of the building.

Peter Patel and Jigisha Shah, Quality Inn managers, provided a tour of the facility for members of the Council and at the end of the meeting, provided cash donations to the Lamar Police Department and Lamar Fire and Ambulance Department. Fire Chief, Jeremy Burkhart, said that Patel has been a consistent donor to the department.  The City Council and various department heads hold an informal monthly breakfast meeting at rotating restaurants each month of the year.  The public is always invited to attend to ask questions of the council or to address any issues they may have.
