Alvarez “Al” Jones…October, 23, 1918 – April 14, 2018

Funeral Services for Al Jones will be held at 10:30am Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Horber Funeral Chapel in Las Animas, CO with Pastor Diane Hutson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bent/Las Animas Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9am to 5pm on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 also at the funeral home.

Alvarez Allen Jones, known to most as Al, was born on October 23, 1918 in Seibert, CO to Frank Watson and Edna (Hollenbeck) Jones. He passed away on April 14, 2018 in Las Animas, CO at the age of 99.

Al is survived by his sons, Frank Jones of Las Animas, CO, Richard (Linda) Jones of Ft. Lupton, CO; sister, Ila Mae Hojura of Dallas, TX; 3 grandchildren; step-daughters, Nita (Don) Taylor of Lorena, TX, Nikki (Larry) Frederick of Ft. Sumner, NM, and Dolores (Kenny) Bruton of Cassville, MO; many other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edna Jones; wife, Juanita (Pennington) Jones; daughters, Connie Marie Jones and Mary Kay Jones; brother, Glenn Jones; sisters, Lois Smith and Inez Melton.
