Mary O. Romero…October 29, 1942 – February 28, 2018

Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Romero will be held at 10am on Monday, March 5, 2018 at St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lamar, Colorado with Father Mariusz Wirkowski as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery. Rosary will be held prior to the Mass at 9:30am at the church. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar.

Maria Olympia (Martinez) Romero, known to most as Mary, was born on October 29, 1942 in San Miguel, New Mexico to Helario Jr. and Corina (Sena) Martinez. She passed away with her family by her side on February 28, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 75.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Manuel Romero in 2012; son, Donald Max Romero in 1996; brothers, Florencio Martinez and Lesardo Martinez; sister, Teresa Segura; and nephews, Hilario Martinez and Lee Martinez, Jr.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Joseph Winter, Manuel Ray Romero, and Del Keys Romero; two great grandchildren; sister, Florida (Alan) Rue of Port Ludlow, Washington; sister-in-law, Corina Martinez; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
