15th Judicial District Community Corrections Board has Open Position

The 15th Judicial District Community Corrections board is accepting applications from persons who are residents of the 15th Judicial District that includes Baca, Cheyenne, Kiowa and Prowers Counties. There are four (4) openings on the board to be filled by one citizen from each of the aforementioned counties. A citizen member term is one year from July 1 – June 30 and may be reappointed annually.
Any person living in the 15th Judicial District, at least 21 years of age, and who is interested in the objectives of the 15th Judicial District Community Corrections board and sentencing programs within the criminal justice system may be a member of the board. Citizen members considered for the board will be subjected to a criminal background check prior to appointment. Having a criminal history does not disqualify a person from being considered for appointment to the board.
Members are expected to attend the board’s monthly meetings held in Lamar, CO on the first Monday of every month from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. In addition one citizen member will be asked to serve on a sub-committee that will meet bi-weekly at a time and location to be determined. The purpose of this sub-committee will be to screen referrals of offenders being sent to the board requesting admission into the Community Corrections Program in Lamar, CO.
