New Route for Lamar Chamber’s Parade of Lights

Santa in His Workshop

Due to highway construction along Main Street in Lamar, the Chamber of Commerce has decided on a new route for this year’s Parade of Lights for Friday, December 1st.

This year’s theme is, “Enchanted Christmas”.  All entries will line up at the Lamar Municipal Swimming Pool by 5pm for judging with prizes awarded in Luv Bucks for the first three winners.  There will be a $5 entry fee.

The parade will begin a 6pm, heading west on Parkway Drive to 4th Street and will turn north on the corner of the SDS facilities.  The parade will continue and cross East Olive Street which will lead directly to the entrance for the Lamar Chamber Headquarters and the Enchanted Forest.

This year’s parade will feature two sets of dancers from All the Right Moves. One older group will headline the parade and a second younger group will accompany Santa Claus at the end of the parade.  This year, Santa will make his arrival in a horse-drawn carriage.  Entry forms are available at the Lamar Chamber.  The Chamber is continuing its search for new directors for 2018.  Application forms are also available and potential directors must be a member of the Chamber of Commerce, or employed by a member business.  Call 336-4379 for more information.
