Jeffrey Lucero…October 18, 1942 – May 19, 2017

Graveside services for longtime Las Animas, Colorado resident, Jeffrey Lucero will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Bent/Las Animas Cemetery Elder Chapel in Las Animas, Colorado with Pastor Diane Hutson officiating.

Jeffrey Lucero “Pops” was born on October 18, 1942 in El Chorro, New Mexico.  The Lord scheduled a hair appointment for him on May 19, 2017 and called him home.  He enjoyed this world and this life with his wife, Rita Lucero. This union was blessed by three children Jill (John) Hopper, Buffy (Bret) Lucero-Smith, and Aaron (Marcey) Lucero.  The lights of his life were his hijtos Abby and Adam Hopper.  He was embraced by his brothers and sisters and was thoroughly enjoyed by his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.  Jeff never knew a stranger and welcomed everyone around him with open arms.  He was an avid sports fan of all Colorado teams, however the Broncos lost one of their biggest fans.

Jeffrey requested in lieu of flowers that all memorial contributions be made to Las Animas Elementary School or Granada School District in care of Horber Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 431, Las Animas, CO 81054.
