Doris Morgan has been named Interim President/CEO of Action 22, Inc.  Doris is a native Coloradan, raised on a small farm outside of Las Animas.

Doris retired from 21 years of service for Colorado members of Congress.  She has served as Regional Director and District Representative.  In these roles, she helped constituents work through the “red tape” of federal agencies to resolve their problems.  During this time, she was an advocate for many communities in southeast Colorado and the San Luis Valley on community issues and projects needing assistance and funding.

Doris attended Western State College and Otero Jr. College where she studied political science and physical education.   She has lived in Pueblo West for over 19 years and participated in the Pueblo Leadership class, has been a member of the Pueblo West Rotary Club, and served on the El Pueblo Boys and Girls Ranch operating board, State Fair Ladies, a 15-year member of Action 22 and a member of the Pueblo West women’s League.

Ivor Hill, Chairman of the Board, said Action 22 was pleased to have Ms. Morgan on board.   “She is well known in the Action 22 region”, said Hill “and understands the challenges and issues of the region”.

Action 22 is a 22-county advocacy organization whose mission is to give voice to citizens in Southern Colorado and serve as a leader in shaping the future of southern Colorado.
