Christina Janiece (Hartshorn) Seybert was born on March 8, 1956 in Lamar, Colorado to Wallace “Babe” and Joyce (Mangan) Hartshorn. She passed away on November 10, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 60.
Christina, better known as Tina to all who knew her, started school in Hartman, attended in Plainview, and eventually graduated from Holly High School in 1974. Tina began dating her future husband, Ron, in 1979 and they were married on May 24, 1980. Together, their family included four children, Tracee, Bryan, Veronica, and Jared.
Tina was a very hard worker and some of her more prominent assignments were as a reporter with the Holly Chieftain, the head of purchasing for Neoplan, and a bus driver and paraprofessional for Midlothian ISD. Tina officially retired from outside employment in January 2011 when she and Ron moved their household from Midlothian, Texas back to Granada, Colorado in order that she could be a full-time caregiver to her parents.
Tina spent her entire life taking care of others in some way or another. She was an excellent conversationalist, cook, and Nana to her seven grandchildren. She also dearly loved working in her yard, creating beautiful landscapes; renovating and remodeling with her power tools; and driving fast with her dear friend, Murphy.
Christina is survived by her husband, Ron Seybert of Granada, Colorado; mother, Joyce Hartshorn of Granada, Colorado; four children, Tracee Nelson-Yarborough and husband, David of Holly, Colorado, Bryan Seybert and wife, Cori of Nampa, Idaho, Veronica Seybert of Holly, Colorado, and Jared Seybert of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren; siblings, Kerry Hartshorn and wife, Shawna of Granada, Colorado, Vincent Hartshorn of Granada, Colorado, Monte Hartshorn of Lamar, Colorado, and Lonna Westeman and husband, Del of Milford, TX; many other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace “Babe” Hartshorn; niece, Kaitlin Hartshorn; and nephew, Dustin Hartshorn.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 950, Lamar, CO, 81052.
