The Colorado State Patrol is currently investigating a one vehicle non-injury traffic crash that occurred on August 6, 2016 at approximately 5:00 PM. The crash occurred on Highway 50 (7 miles east of the town of Hasty).
A 2008 Peterbilt truck and tanker trailer, driven by Dekota Renner, a 25 year old Colorado male, was eastbound on Colorado Highway 50. The semi-truck and tanker trailer traveled off the right side of the roadway, going through the guardrail and into the ditch. The semi-truck and trailer traveled east in the ditch to a small bridge on Colorado Highway 50. The semi-tractor came to rest in a drainage ditch south of the highway, as the tanker trailer rolled ½ time, coming to rest partially on the highway bridge.
The tanker trailer sustained damage from the rollover, causing fuel to spill on the highway and in the drainage ditch area.
The crash and fuel spill caused the highway to be closed for over 15 hours.
No occupants or drivers were injured, and alcohol and drugs are not considered to be a factor in the crash.
