June 28 Primary Election Information for Prowers County

ELECTION INFORMATION:
Do you know someone that is in one of the following circumstances?
- Turning 18 in 2016 and would like to vote? They can register to vote on-line at www.govotecolorado.com or can register in person at the Prowers County Clerk & Recorder’s Office, 301 S. Main St., Ste. 210, Lamar, CO 81052 anytime including Election Day as long as they will be 18 by Election Day.
- Are you going to be away from home for the June 28, 2016 Primary Election? Apply for a ballot to mailed to your away from home location prior to ballots being mailed out the week of June 6-10, 2016.
- Is your 18 year old or older son or daughter going to be away at college during the elections? College students should fill out a form in their home county to have the ballot from home mailed to them at college prior to ballots being mailed out the week of June 6-10, 2016 for the Primary Election.
- Do you have a relative that is in the Military or is an Overseas Citizen? They should apply for a ballot to be sent to them from their home county prior to ballots being sent out the week of June 6-10, 2016 for the Primary.

REMINDERS
- To vote in the Primary Election you must be affiliated with either the Republican or Democratic Party. Unaffiliated voters can affiliate anytime up to and including Election Day.
- Prowers County will place a Ballot Box in the entrance of the courthouse on the table right in front of the security entrance for your convenience.
- Primary Election Day: Tuesday, June 28, 2016 a ballot will be mailed to all active voters affiliated with Republican or Democratic parties. Unaffiliated Voters will not automatically receive a ballot in the mail, they will need to affiliate with a party first.
- June 6 – June 10, 2016: Ballots for the Primary Election will be mailed to voters this week.
- Saturday, June 25, 2016: Prowers County Clerk’s Office will be open 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for return of mail-in ballots; issue replacement ballots; register to vote; update address; update name; cast a ballot or vote a provisional ballot. No Motor Vehicle transitions will be open to the public on this day.
