At its April 13, 2026 meeting, the Lamar RE-2 School Board approved a 2026-2027 fiscal year Chief Financial Officer contract with David Tecklenburg. Also approved were 8 travel study trip requests as follows: Lamar Middle School Rock Band to Pueblo on April 10, 2026; Lamar High School FFA students to Fort Collins for a state competition April 26-28; Lamar High School Interact students to the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs April 29; Lamar Middle School Advanced Band to Lakewood and Denver for a competition May 2; Parkview Gifted and Talented students to Denver Museum of Nature and Science May 6-7; Lamar Middle School “Girls on the Run: to Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs May 9; Lamar Middle School Student Council to Washington DC and New York City May 28-June 2; Lamar High School Photography students to Botanical Gardens in Denver May 7.
Four Capital Projects were approved: Lamar Middle School Social Studies textbooks, Chromebook purchases, Auditorium Lighting Project design, and Phase 3 Security Camera upgrades.
Multiple personnel changes were approved, as follows:
- A Retirement and Transition year was approved for Jammie Brian, Math Teacher at Lamar High School.
- A Retirement was approved for Lisa Cleland, Special Education Teacher at Lamar High School.
- A Transition Year was approved for Carol Beakley, Bus Driver & Courier.
- Two 2025/2026 hirings were approved: BreeAnn Walkinshaw, Classified Substitute, and Robert Wilger, Assistant Baseball coach for Lamar Middle School.
- Hirings for the 2026/2027 school year were: Blake Buxton, Physical Education at Lamar High School, and Andrea Spitz, Elementary teacher at Parkview.
- Seven resignations were approved: Annette Almanzan, Paraprofessional at Lamar High School, Yadira Chavira Carrillo, Art Teacher at Lamar Middle School; Savannah Davis, 7th Grade Social Studies teacher at Lamar Middle School; George Mayjoy, Summer School at Lamar Hish School; Tonny Herrera, Weight training-summer at Lamar High School; Alexis Holguin, Paraprofessional at Parkview, and Mathew Nieschburg, Weight training-summer at Lamar High School.
- Two transfers were approved: Chrislyn Jaime – from 2nd Grade Teacher at Washington to Reading Intervention at Washington; Christjan Nieschburg – from Assistant Football Coach at Lamar Middle School to Volunteer Assistant Football Coach at Lamar Middle School.
