Big Timbers Museum

Prowers County Historical Society is presenting “Big Timbers – Night at the Museum” on Thursday, July 18 starting at 5:30 pm. The event is being held as a retirement party for County Commissioner Wendy Buxton-Andrade and Big Timbers Curator Kathleen Scranton who are both retiring after 12 years and 17 years, respectively.

There will be live music provided by the Rhythm Company.  Also featured will be western artwork by artist Dennis Knill.  A silent auction and a scavenger hunt will be held as well during the evening’s event.

Attendees will be able to tour the museum and also learn about the Bristol Senior Community Center from special guests Rodney Carr, Chairperson, as well as Irene Grissom, muralist for the center’s AARP Community Challenge Grant historic mural installation.

The event costs $2.50 per person or $10 per family and includes hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips, lemonade and homemade desserts.  No reservations are necessary.

For more information, call 719-336-2472 or email the museum at bigtimbers@prowerscounty.net.
