Lamar City Sales Tax Report, September 2019

 

 

September 2019 Sales Tax collections for the City of Lamar showed an 8.77% gain over the same period last year for $25,542. Collections were $316,652 compared to $291,109 in 2018. Use Tax collections were off 11.06% for a drop of $3,635. Total Sales and Use Tax collections were up 6.76% for the month for $21,931. Collections for 2019 were at $346,413 and were $324,482 for the previous year.

Year-to-Date collections were off a fraction of a percent for the period, down 0.73% for City Sales Tax for a drop of $21,416. Collections for 2019 were $2,928,188 compared to 2018 at $2,949,604. Use Tax collections were down 23.91% for a decrease of $77,585 from the year before. 2019 collections were at $246,958 compared to 2018 at $324,543. Total Sales and Use Tax collections were off 3.05% for a loss of $100,359 comparing 2019 to 2018. Collections for 2019 were $3,194,196 and collections for 2018 were $3,294,556.

The twelve retail sales categories were split about 50-50 for gains and losses comparing 2018 to the current year. Building Materials, Restaurants, C-Stores and Gas sales as well as liquor sales were off.
