October was first proclaimed Head Start Awareness Month by President Ronald Reagan on October 22, 1982. Ever since, October has been a month for our community to celebrate the life changing impact of Head Start. The last week of October, we will have our Spirit Week with different dress up days.
The Lamar Rotary Club chose Lamar Head Start for the Vocational Service Award for Professional Excellence in Education.
We are very proud and honored to receive the award and I am very thankful to our staff members that make sure our children are receiving the best education to be ready for kindergarten.
