Cats and Bats for Moonlight Madness

Lamar trick or treaters were on the prowl for cats during Moonlight Madness, Thursday, October 24th. This year’s theme was “Eat, Drink, Shop and be Scary” and included a cat hunt for prizes at participating merchants.
Other events included a traditional Trunk Street for goodies in the Enchanted Forest just before and after sunset.
The Pocket Park featured a lot of entertainment between 5pm and 7pm including a witches dance, kids in costume, cotton candy, and Halloween themed songs on stage.
Story tellers and fortune tellers were dotted along Main Street including a Big Bad Wolf and an all-seeing lady with her crystal ball, plus Charles Dickens’ had a scary character from one of his famous novels come to life.
The annual Autumn Arts Show was featured in the Shore Arts Center.
This was a good start on other spooky, costumed events for Trick or Treating which include:
October 25th – Lamar Elks Trunk or Treat from 6pm to 8pm up to 12 years
October 28th – 30th SDS Haunted House from 7pm to 9pm
October 29th – Lamar Legacy on Kendall Avenue, Trick or Treat Street from 6pm to 8pm; Fellowship Credit Union Trunk or Treat at 803 East Olive Street from 6pm to 7:30pm
October 30th – SDS Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 7pm
October 31st – Lamar Public Library Spooktacular Bash from 5pm to 7pm in Cultural Events Center; Lamar Baptist Church, South 14th Street, Trunk or Treat from 6pm to 8pm; LCC Cosmetology Halloween Party/Princess Event from 9am to 5pm
