Lamar Utility Board Holds Brief Meeting

 

The Lamar Utilities Board held a brief regular meeting on Tuesday, September 10th.  Purchase orders totaling $188,313.44 were submitted and of those $1,165,067.85 were submitted for approval including $1,146,034.19 for power purchased from ARPA, Arkansas River Power Authority.  That marks another month in which the Light Plant purchased over one million dollars’ worth of power to supply its customers.  The board voted to pay monthly bills at $215,504.58.

The board was briefed on the monthly system operating report which shows sales of electricity through July 2019 were down approximately 6.77% when compared to the same period in 2018. Residential sales were down approximately 7.57%, irrigation sales were down approximately 21.38% and commercial/industrial sales were down approximately 4.91%.  These three customer classes represent an estimated 96% of total system sales.

The line crew has completed the installation of a new service to the old Davis Hotel located on the 100 block of North Main Street in Lamar.  The new service installation includes a new 45 kva pad mount transformer. The next regularly scheduled meeting is Tuesday, September 24th at noon.
