Holly Commercial Club Seeking Pedal the Plains Volunteers
Barbara Crimond | Aug 12, 2019 | Comments 0
The Holly Commercial Club met August 7 at noon with eight members present. Minutes from the July meeting were read and approved as written by Calvin and second by Pearl. Motion carried. John gave the treasurer’s report and the Shopper’s report. Both were approved as given by Viola and second by Jackie. Motion carried.
It is just a few days over a month before Pedal the Plains will be in Holly. Volunteers are still needed to do jobs to welcome the riders to our town. If you can give an hour or two on Friday, September 13th, your help will be greatly appreciated. Anyone out there willing to rent a room for a cyclist(s) is still needed. There will be no football game here on Friday night. If anyone has an idea for entertainment, please get in touch with Rod Swisher or Jesse Frey.
Post cards (using the scenes from the Holly Christmas cards) will be available at this time for $1.00 each.
Be thinking of someone that you think would make a good leader for our Commercial Club. Jesse is giving up the position when his term is up in December.
It was announced that there will be no car show or corn hole tournament in conjunction with the Holly Gateway Fair. Again, any ideas?
After no further business, the meeting adjourned at 1:10.
Secretary, Viola Melcher
