American Civil Constructors work crews will return to Lamar one more time to finalize work on Main Street and Highway 287 beginning Monday, March 18th. Tony Gregoritch of ACC informed The Prowers Journal that some of the remaining tasks include:
Grind/Smooth the roadway surface (Park St. to Lamar Canal Rd.)
Saw & Seal all concrete joints in roadway (Park St. to Lamar Canal Rd.)
Connect lateral waterline at Hickory Street
Fix/Repair punchlist items throughout the project (Park St. to Lamar Canal Rd.)
Mill and Fill asphalt at Park Street, both sides of the railroad tracks and at Lamar Canal Road.
Permanent Striping (Park St. to Lamar Canal Rd.)
All of this should be completed by Friday, April 26th pending any weather delays. There will be various lane closures and side street closures each day but at this time there will be no detours in place.
The majority of the $13 million dollar road improvement project in Lamar came to an end by Mid-December of last year, but American Civil Constructors had planned to return in the spring to complete their work.
