The Lamar Police Department will take part in the National Drug Take-Back Initiative in cooperation with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Designed for people with unwanted and unused prescription drugs, the program allows for their safe disposal and to make sure the drugs are not used in an improper or illegal manner.
Drugs can be dropped off in front of the City Complex Building in Lamar at 505 South Main Street on the south end. Use the driveway from Parmenter to enter and exit onto Pearl Street. There is no charge for this service.
The police department WILL NOT accept needles and sharps, mercury thermometers, oxygen containers, chemo/radioactive substances, pressurized canisters, illicit drugs or other medical supplies. Anyone with unused, unwanted or expired medications is encouraged to safely dispose of them this Saturday, October 27th from 10am to 2pm. Call the LPD with any questions at 719-336-4341
