Larry Smith…February 12, 1938 – August 12, 2018

Larry Smith, 80, died August 12^th, 2018 at Silverado Memory Care Community in Cedar Park, Texas.  He was born on February 12^th, 1938 in Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Clyde and Dorothy (Preston) Smith.

A long-time resident of Lamar, Colorado, Larry operated several IGA grocery stores in Kansas and Colorado. He had a deep faith in his savior Jesus Christ and a love of his country.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn (Cooper) Smith, two sons Scott Cooper Smith and Todd Stephen Smith, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, his two sisters, Patricia Nelson and Donna Moore-Ede, his brother, Stephen Smith and his many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Mark Preston Smith.

Graveside services were held at Cimarron Cemetery on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 11am. Visitation was held at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Cimarron on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 8:30am to 10:30am.  A memorial service was held at the Lamar Christian Church, in Lamar, Colorado on Saturday, August 18^th, 2018 at 11am.
