Police Note Meth & Drug Arrests for Granada and Lamar Residents

On Tuesday, May 1, 2018, officers of the Lamar Police Department contacted Alexandro Morales, 23 of Granada, in an alleyway behind the 500 block of North Main Street.

Mr. Morales was found to have an active felony warrant out of Prowers County for failure to comply on an original charge of attempted first degree murder.  After investigation, officers executed a search warrant.  Officers recovered quantities of methamphetamine and other items relating to the illegal distribution of narcotics.

Officers obtained arrest warrants for Mr. Morales and Chelsea Hall-Chavira, 26 of Lamar, for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. Mr. Morales and Ms. Hall-Chavira are being held at the Prowers County Jail on a $75,000 cash only bond.  Additional arrests are expected in this case.

The charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
